What is Riviera Maya, Mexico?

Riviera Maya is a stunning area located on the Caribbean Sea. This place is turistic but not as crowded as Cancun, Los Cabos, Acapulco or Mexico City. Right on the middle of Paradise with turquoise water and white sand, is NEVER cold and 99% of the time it´s very very sunny.

Entertainment:

The most famous festival is the BPM (Bartenders, Promoters, Musicians) an annual electronic music festival, that combines really good music, a non stop party for 10 days right on the beach and the dance on the beach.

Playa del carmen is the heart of the Riviera Maya, where tourists meet local people, taste the amazing food and can learn from the Mayan culture and join the local celebrations: Día de los muertos, Día del grito (or independence day), and still enjoy of the perks of turistic places like all kinds of Tours: swimming with dolphins, snorkeling, windsurfing, fishing, water parks, trips tu Ruins (Tulum, Coba and Chichen Itza are the best ones).

Tulum Ruins
 Cenote Playa del Carmen
The Cenotes are the underground caves with water, Riviera Maya is best known as the best place in the world to appreciate these amazing and natural places.
Most of the area is surrounded by Mayan villages that work selling handcraft, doing different activities like Temazcal (a Mayan massage/treatment similar to sauna but way more interesting) or Mayan weddings.

It is the perfect place to come for vacations or work temporarily, most of the locals are used to different languages like English, Italian and even French. It is perfectly safe if you travel as a couple or come by yourself as a backpacker.

The best thing about this place is: Friendly and helpful people, you don´t have to spend lots of money to enjoy of a good party because most of them are FREE! Food and Beer are not expensive at all.

The Fith Avenue is a long street where you will find Stores with everything you can possibly need, Restaurants, Bars, DrugStores, ATM´s every two steps, Information stands for tourists, local Handcraft, and lots and lots of Hotels, Hostals, Motels and places to spend the night.
